Installation Disclaimer & Trade Policy

This policy clarifies the operational boundary between Ridge Cabinetry as a direct material supplier/designer and independent installation contractors. It details installer responsibilities—such as field verification, wall blocking, box leveling, and scribing moldings—as well as pre-installation inspection requirements. This guide helps clarify roles and expectations for a smooth installation.

1. Material Supply & Design Scope

Ridge Cabinetry is a specialized cabinet, countertop, and flooring supplier providing material sourcing, 3D CAD space planning, and delivery logistics. Unless explicitly contracted through an authorized Ridge Cabinetry turnkey management agreement, we do not act as the licensed general contractor or site installer.

2. Third-Party Installer Responsibilities

The customer’s chosen independent finish carpenter or general contractor is solely responsible for:

  • Verifying cabinet layout against field conditions prior to unboxing and scribing.
  • Installing proper wall backing/blocking into wall studs.
  • Leveling cabinet boxes on uneven floors or out-of-plumb walls using shims.
  • Scribing fillers, crown molding, and light rails to ceiling and wall contours.

3. Pre-Installation Inspection Requirement

Cabinet boxes, door faces, and finished panels must be inspected for transit damage or manufacturing defects prior to installation. Modifying, cutting, hanging, or installing a damaged or defective cabinet component constitutes acceptance of the product in its current condition and voids warranty replacement claims for physical defects.
